The Art of Yogic Chant: Teacher training in sacred song, mantra & sound yoga

  • Point Reyes Yoga 11250 California 1 Point Reyes Station, CA, 94956 United States (map)

This 30-hour training prepares yoga teachers, singers and healing practitioners to incorporate song, chant and mantra into their work. Participants will learn to lead simple but powerful voice and sound practices for energetic and personal transformation. We investigate the tools of mantra, raga, bhajan and kirtan along with east-west music theory, sound healing and instrumental accompaniment options. A song & chant book is provided along with audio resources. Class time is distributed between experiential chanting practice, audio-visual presentations, meditations and asana practices.

The course will help you cultivate your own palette of songs, chants and instrumentation to most effectively share your passion for yogic chant with others.

Open to yoga teachers, yoga practitioners, singers and musicians with at least two years of yoga experience. Participants should be able to carry a basic melody on their own with a solid sense of rhythm.

Continuing Education (CE) – 30 continuing education hours (CE’s) are available to Yoga Alliance RYT’s (24 contact hours plus, 6 hours of independent practice).
