Sacred song, mantra & sound yoga retreat
Fri-Sun 11:30-8:00 pm
Immerse in 3 days of sacred song, chant and mantra. Learn simple but powerful practices for energetic and personal transformation to fuel your practice, and learn techniques to help share your passion for meditative, heart-opening yogic chant with others.
This journey explores mantra, raga, bhajan and Kirtan chanting along with Vedic chants, east-west music theory and accompaniment. No instruments or instrumental skills are required, but if you have a harmonium, drone or other instrument that you use for your practice, please bring it to class. Most students will practice with unaccompanied voice, but if you're interested in buying an instrument, click here for Devi's recommendations.
Daily Schedule: Fri-Sun 11:30–8:00 each day includes a mid-afternoon lunch break. You can buy food next door at Toby’s or bring a bag lunch.
Class time is distributed between experiential chanting practice, audio-visual presentations, meditations and yoga asana practices.
Prerequisites & Continuing Ed: This course is for yoga teachers and practitioners with at least one year of yoga experience. Teachers registered with Yoga Alliance are eligible for 30 CE’s (24 contact hours plus 6 hours of independent study).
